Central Technical Area (CTA)

Our central control area houses all the technical equipment that controls all aspects of the radio stations facilities.

Many hundreds of metres of cable interconnect between the studios, cta and library in order to get all the various signals from a to b.

We use 'Myriad' as a computer playout system which provides an automated output when we are not coming live from our studios. The system stores many thousands of music tracks, so our presenters have a wide selection of music to choose from when presenting their programmes.

Computers and other 'noisey' equipment is located in the CTA to reduce background noise and the heat often given off.
